What Exactly is an Eco-Valve™?

The Salvalco Eco-Valve™ is a new type of aerosol valve that allows products to be sprayed using safe, eco-friendly gases like nitrogen or even just compressed air. It delivers the same high-quality spray performance you’d expect from traditional LPG-powered aerosols, but without the environmental drawbacks.

Our innovative valve can be used with the vast majority of aerosol spray applications, making it a versatile, sustainable choice for brands and manufacturers looking to move towards greener technology today.

How does Eco Aerosol Valve Technology work?

Our innovative eco aerosol technology uses patented Bubbly-Flow Technology, created by the Spray Research Group (SRG) at the University of Salford in the UK. This advanced technology allows aerosols to be powered using harmless, compressed inert gases instead of traditional propellants.

Not only is this significantly better for the environment, it also provides a much safer alternative to conventional LPG propellants, which are usually hydrocarbon-based.

Each time a Salvalco Eco-Valve™ is used with nitrogen or air, harmful propellants, VOCs and greenhouse gases are kept out of the environment.

The use of Eco-Valve™ also offers greater safety and less risk with the potential for aerosols to be categorised as non-hazardous.

Why Was Eco-Valve™ Technology Created?

Eco-Valve™ was created to combat the negative impacts of LPG propellent through the introduction of an innovative eco-aerosol technology by removing the build up of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) on our health and the environment. As such brands and consumers have been increasingly looking for alternatives.

It’s the reason why we have spent years developing our highly innovative aerosol solution powered by nitrogen, while offering all the great performance benefits of traditional valves. Eco-Valve™ is now being adopted by leading brands worldwide.

Who Developed Eco-Valve™?

The inception of Eco-Valve™ involved decades of R&D at the University of Salford (UoS) by the Spray Research Group (SRG).  A valve system was designed and developed that would enable an aerosol to be propelled by inert gases (nitrogen). Giving a high quality consumer spray performance.

It’s this research by the SRG, guided by the leadership of Professor Ghasem Nasr that has led to the development of Salvalco Eco-Valve™.

What Industries Use Eco Aerosol Valve Technology?

Eco Valve™ technology is highly versatile and can be used in a range of application fields including personal care, household, cosmetics, food and more.

The technology is also a cost-effective alternative to BOV, offering great performance benefits and a superior spray quality.

Eco-Valve™ can be filled on conventional aerosol filling lines without the need for significant investment in change parts.

Yes, our team is always researching, reviewing and developing further eco aerosol valve technology.
