Ready to make the move to nitrogen propellant?

Posted on Thu 1st December 2022

With increasing costs and reduced availability of butane, we are seeing more than ever the rising demand for aerosol alternatives such as nitrogen propellant.

With all areas of life currently impacted by the price of natural gas, coupled with the risk of supply, the aerosol industry has been no exception, leading customers to seek out more readily available and cost -effective options.

And whilst it’s a challenging enough time for everyone at the moment, it’s one that the industry sadly feels may get even worse over the winter months.

It’s why we are proud to have available an alternative, high- performance aerosol solution in Eco-Valve. Powered by inert gas, and now in the form of a new optimised valve, customers are using this time to make a change and subsequently enjoy the many advantages of the technology.

Ready to make the change?

Don’t take our word for it though.  Big name brands such as Nivea and Rossman who are currently using Eco-Valve across a number of their aerosol lines are already reaping the benefits.  Readily available, cost effective, high performing and environmentally friendly being just some of the reasons making it such a popular choice.

And it’s the combination of market conditions alongside Eco-Valve’s growing reputation in the market that is resulting in an increasingly high number of enquiries from brands also wanting to make the switch.

Eco-Valve – multiple benefits

As well as the benefits of performance, reduced costs and availability, the switch to nitrogen also provides other advantages. The most obvious being the impact on the environment through the reduction of VOCs and hydrocarbons.

Eco-Valve is also giving brands the opportunity to benefit from a number of significant marketing claims too including;

  • A ZERO hydrocarbon propellant, that reduces carbon footprint.
  • Offering twice as much product formula in the can! Yes, that’s right. The removal of butane LPG propellant means brands can benefit from a higher fill ratio of pure bulk formula, resulting in more product within their cans.
  • The possibility to use more organic and natural formulations which are not normally compatible with LPG propellant.
  • Helping towards the reduction of VOC emissions and improved air quality (particularly water- based formulations).
  • A fine mist spray which is ideally suited for formulations containing natural ingredients.

Peter Shaw, Managing Director, Salvalco said;

“With the challenging market conditions, we are all facing, we are proud to be able to have available a tried and tested, high performing valve alternative.  As the industry leading inert gas aerosol propelled aerosol valve technology, coupled with the launch of our newly optimised valve, we are already seeing an increasing number of enquiries from brands wanting to make the change.

Our vision was always to support the industry and environment by creating a different kind of aerosol technology, that’s kinder to people and plant but still offers a superior spray quality.  And we feel we have achieved just that – making Eco-Valve a win-win solution for all!

With our dedicated and friendly team, at Salvalco, we are on hand to answer any questions you may have and help customers make a seamless transition.  So, if you are considering the switch or are ready to make a move to nitrogen propellant, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.”
